Thanh Hue is a Hanoi-born freelance photojournalist currently based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Her practice falls within the socially conscious documentary tradition, with a focus on human-centered issues, specifically portraits of people in their living spaces.

Hue began her career documenting groups that spontaneously migrate and lived in residential areas in Hanoi in 2019. After graduating at the Academy of Journalism and Communication in the same year, she worked as a regular contributor for VnExpress - the most read Vietnamese newspaper and covered news and lifestyle stories.

Prior to relocating to Ho Chi Minh City in late 2021, Hue contributed to Reuters as a locally based stringer, covering news around Vietnam. During that time, she completed Online Hostile Environment Training, hosted by Reuters, in December 2020.

Her works have been published in VnExpress, Reuters, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, Mekong Eye, U.S. News & World Report, among others.

She is a member of Diversify Photo and VII Academy alumni.
